Exciting news in the world of Kendra!

Neil Gaiman is using a cartoon I did of him a while ago to start his new merch line! The cartoon will be on girl and boy cut shirts and will be first available at Comicon in San Diego, at some sort of Neil Gaiman-y booth. I will, of course, be there as well for at least Saturday and Sunday, to bully people into buying shirts for themselves, their friends, family, and the homeless guy near their house that the always feel awkward walking past. Past Comicon, I think the shirts will be for sale on Neil's website, but I'm not sure when.

I've gotten a mockup of the design, but I'm not sure if it's the one they'll be going with. As soon as I know, I'll post it here. But the cartoon is my deviation "Scary Trousers", which is here

The text won't be on the shirt, which is a terrible shame, but oh well. You can't have everything in life.

Anyway, if any of you will be at Comicon, please buy my shirt. Buy two. That way I can convince Neil to let me do a whole line of shirts and it will be awesome.

Other than that, everything is good. The zoo is fun, I am eating dried apricots and reading old issues of Fortean Times. The world is friendly.

I've had a really good couple of weeks here. I've gotten a bunch of faves and comments and watches and I hit 11,000, which was super exciting and nice for obvious reasons (yaaay, exposure!) and really exciting and nice for less obvious reasons, such as I've gotten to look at a bunch of your deviant galleries which I may never have seen otherwise. You're all such talented people, I never cease to be amazed.

Anyway, this was mostly to say that I started my job at the L.A. Zoo, which is really fun so far, but means that I probably won't be submitting new stuff very often for the next couple of weeks, until I get used to everything.

Yikes. I'm doped up on painkillers for my ouchy shoulder, and I don't think I'm making any sense. All my thoughts are going skitter skitter skitter around in my head. Sorry.

Ok. Off to have a bath.

So I haven't written a journal in, oh, about a year and a half. Whoops!

But I'm at my 99th deviation, and I am SO CLOSE to ten thousand pageviews that I can almost taste it, and that just makes me happy.

Hey, I'm not dead.

My harddrive just up and exploded, meaning I've lost all of my art (horror and woe) and also the use of my tablet. The boyfriend has been nice enough to loan me his laptop, but alas my Wacom refuses to cooperate with it. And since I am a Poor College Student, I cannot afford to get my computer fixed, so it looks like I may be absent from DA for a while (incidentally, if you've been waiting for the perfect moment to buy one of my prints and thus provide for me for life...now is that time).

Love to you all, and kudos to you all as well, as you guys have been submitting some awesome deviations recently. I don't comment because I'm much too jealous of your ability to draw/write/photograph. Also, I'm lazy as fuck.
